I'm Marc Fasteau.

I'm a retired banker, entrepreneur, and real-estate developer, currently working as a political activist trying to restore the sagging fortunes of the US economy.

To that end, I am a vice-chair of the Coalition for a Prosperous America, a donor to a number of other organizations, a contri-butor to numerous House and Senate campaigns, and an author (see below).

Before founding an insurance company acquired by Progressive, I was a partner at Dillon Read & Co., a New York investment bank. A long time ago, I was a congressional economic staffer.
I grew up on Long Island. I'm a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where I was on the Law Review. I live in New York City, Great Barrington, MA, and Santa Fe, NM.

I've written two books:
My latest, with coauthor Ian Fletcher, is Industrial Policy for the United States: Winning the Competition for Good Jobs and High-Value Industries (Cambridge University Press, $49.95). It's the first fully comprehen-sive book about industrial policy in English in 35 years. There's more information about it at Industrial Policy.US.

Fifty years ago, I wrote The Male Machine, an early work of male feminism about destructive traditional archetypes of masculinity. (This is why episode 5 of the 2020 FX docudrama Mrs. America is about a fight I once had with Phyllis Schlafly.)
